Frequently-Asked-Questions
What is Cyberfi and who is it for?
Cyberfi is a comprehensive, non-technical cyber security awareness training course designed to help businesspeople, employees and individuals gain the knowledge the need to protect themselves from cyber threats which are pervasive in today’s interconnected business world. It’s not designed for cyber professionals – they are trained already (or at least they should be!). Cyberfi covers how all of us can be cyber-safe at work, at home, when using the cloud, using mobile devices, how to spot threats and scams, and what to do if and when the worst happens.
How long does it take to complete the Cyberfi course?
We reckon it takes about 60 minutes at a reasonably relaxed pace. There are five modules and a short jargon-busting introduction which take about ten minutes each. We find that people prefer to take their time and spend between 60 and 90 minutes, then return to it time and time again over weeks and months to get the most out of the extensive knowledge, tips, habits, and practices that are in the modules.
What will I learn from the Cyberfi course?
Cyber Awareness education is proven to protect you, your staff, and your business against cyber threats. It’s essential for anyone working in today’s internet-connected business world. Cyberfi has five modules and a jargon-busting introduction. We start by demystifying cyber security, identifying what you should protect, who you are protecting things from, and basic strategies and terminology for building defences against cyber criminals:

In the WORK SAFE module, we help you to identify and defending from e-mail scams and phishing. We’ll introduce tips and tricks that will help you understand what makes a memorable yet strong password, and strategies to protect your important information.

In the WEB SAFE module, we address how attackers follow our tracks online. We help you confidently apply cyber safe principles to internet banking and social media and so on as well as strategies for defending systems and networks from malware attacks.

In the MOBILE SAFE module, you’ll learn about Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD) strategies at work, how to protect these devices, and the best way to secure your network when working mobile or from home.

In the CLOUD SAFE module, we walk through what the cloud is and its different types. We help to build confidence in maintaining cloud services and strategies for protection when using cloud services.

In the final BUSINESS SAFE module, we bring it all together from a business perspective and help people to understand the importance of cyber security on a company’s reputation, its key stakeholders, customers, employees, and partners. We cover procedure and strategy to recover after a security breach.

What makes Cyberfi different from other training solutions?
When we looked at the market for cyber training, we found that there were three types of training available, none of which really addressed the bulk of the problem that we recognised the market was crying out for: There were people providing face-to-face training sessions often aimed at big businesses that has the finances and HR teams to run them; there were big global software platforms training mostly around the problem of ‘phishing’, testing employees by sending them fake phishing emails, and then sending them video content afterwards to correct behaviours; and there was advice available in thousands of websites, YouTube videos and vendor websites selling specific software solutions. All of these sources of training are great in their own way. Afterall, the more information and ways to train that people can access, the better.

But whilst there was a lot of information out there, we thought that no one had really taken the time to put the best and most comprehensive advice together for a non-technical business audience and make it relevant and easy to consume online from one place.

That’s what we’ve done with Cyberfi. We’ve built a Learning Management Platform dedicated to delivering comprehensive, modular cyber training courses at the lowest possible cost to the widest possible number of people.

Who created Cyberfi?
Cyberfi was created by the cyber experts at Cyber Partners Australia. Since 2015 we’ve trained thousands of people both face-to-face, remotely, and online using all manner of methods. We’ve trained entire organiations and every staff member from office interns to Board Directors and everyone in-between. We partnered with educational course building experts (with PhDs in education) who developed the comprehensive educational learning experience that Cyberfi is now known for. And we partnered with an amazing graphic design team who helped us bring the vision to life and make the course interactive, fun and entertaining as well as informative and relevant.
